PES 2009 Master League Transfer guide, hints, and tips

The Master League transfer process has changed since PES 2008 - now when you submit an offer to a club to buy a player you will find out instantly whether the club has accepted your bid or not. Each time you submit an offer, it counts as one of your maximum five offers for the week. If the club accepts your offer, you then have to wait til the next week to find out whether the player himself has accepted the personal terms.

This change to the transfer process means you can make offers on alternative players after being turned down on your first choice player without having to go through to next week. This makes you always in control of what players you are bidding on when you process a new week.

So here are our tips on getting good transfers on PES 2009.

Player popularity - If a player you are bidding on has a higher popularity class (A-D) than your team, you have little chance in signing him unless you a much higher bid than what the club are asking for. If the player is not with a club, you will need to offer to pay him around 50%+ than what he is asking for if you stand any chance in signing him.
Timing - If you bid for a player in the final two weeks of the transfer period, the clubs are more likley to sell as they will no know that it is their last chance to get any money for the player. However, waiting until the final couple of weeks for the player means that you risk another club getting him.
Bid higher! - If you are having trouble signing a player, think about how beneficial to your club he will be. If you really think he’ll be a major asset to your team, then why not stretch your budget and bid a few thousand points more than the asking price - remember if he helps you get good results then you wil earn that cash back through match bonuses.
Trade - Look for players whose clubs are willing to accept a traded player as part of the player purchase. Trading your players means you do not need to part with too much of your club’s cash, and means you can off-load players that normally wouldn’t be bought up.
Save before you bid - Okay some may see this as cheating, but I always save a game save at the start of the transfer period , and then every time before I progress to the next week. This way if you get to the end of the transfer period, play your first game and realise you bought the wrong players you can go back and do it all over again. Also, if you progress to the next week and your bid gets refused, then you can just load up your latest game save and try again.

Hey ! look..I play with Juventus and the club popularity is “S”. When I make an offer to any player his club accepts, but next week I find out that the negotiations has broken down. In addition offer the player “5000″ which is the maximum. Please i need help I can only buy free agents :S

Popularity: S

i made an offer for Sergio Ramos (Pop: A, Team Pop: A) of 25000 P, it was rejected, i made another offer of 45000 P, it was rejected. I made a last offer of 59999 (max) P with salary of 4999 (max) and again it was rejected.
I then made an experiment:
I made an offer for Maicon (Pop: C, Inter: S) of 59999 P + Cristiano Ronaldo, with the max. salary of 4999 P. It was rejected.
I made these offers in the mid-season negotiation period.
I will try again when I reach the end of the season and then see what happens.

I found that ANY player will transfer on loan and i think then it makes it way easier to buy them but im not 100% sure.
I’ve been having similar probs and once i left it at the asking price and i got KAKA so yea i dunno???

I’ve read the comments above. please can i know what setting you have Transfer Frequency and Master league level, this may be the problem. you may have put the settings on Hardest (ML level) and Low (Transfer frequency). this affects a clubs decision to sell players and buy players.

the thing is, you cant just bid for other players blindly. TARGET the players you wanna buy n put them in the SCOUT LIST. do this around 5 weeks before the transfer window so you know if the targeted player is having a good season or struggling for the first team. It also helps if you make a serious offer e.g. C.Ronaldo wont go to Real Madrid because Ronaldo is in Man United(which is the well known club says the scout)

pedropt10, i have the same experience as u… i feel like the transfer method for his pes2009 seems to be VERY difficult… so far, i only got 2 players… one a free agent and the other is Robinho…i use Manchester United… i now have popuarity of S, no 1 of the league and during the end of this season, im still trying to sign players but none of them want t join me :s i looking for left-back defender and i tried clchy, tainio and bale but all three rejects me… i managed to agree a fee with the club and i usually stuck at giving te players their salary… i even raise up to three times their pay but they still wont join me :S

I’m Barcelona and my popularity is A and it’s really difficult to sign players, i think i have my transfer setting on medium but its still basically impossible. Higuain wants to leave Madrid and hes valued at 9000 but when i bid anywhere up to 40000 and 5000 salary he turns it down its really annoying and unrealistic, i cant really sign any big players all ive got is a few free agents and gael clichy and ive had to give away abidal to get clichy

man…pes2009 sucks!! it’s improvements are nothing special and this ML transfer issues are driving me mad! i can’t get anyone to join my team! i’m rank S, i scout the players way before, i give ridiculous amounts of money for the transfers, the same for the salaries and i even tried reducing the contract duration and nothing! also tried trading… IT SUCKS!

Now this is my last PES 2009 master league so im starting with Juventus, im probably going to sell Trezeguet and jaquinta and Amauri, and going to sign 3 new strikers to fill the gap, so who do you recommend ?im also looking for a Left Midfielder because im going to sell Nedved ( he’s too old ) and Giovinco cant play every game so who do you recommend ?
and im also looking for a Center Midfielder becuase im going to sell Poulsen, im thinking about Lampard or maybe Xavi, who do you recommend ?

Im on my first season playing pro evo 2009 master league. I managed to buy ronaldo but he almost made me broke, I had to bid 60000 points and trade A>Traore aswell. aFTER THAT i had to bid 5000 points for a two year contract. I recommend getting the two players gambino and orellano they are amazing and get good at the age of 20. Oh another thing that annoys me when i want to play as my team durin exhibition mode they make ronaldos stats really crap, and generally change the stats of other players, does anyone know why this happens.

i have a very good solution for all of you!!! if you want to buy any player just go to the team he is playing and see how muck he costs and what salary he takes!!! then make an offer with exact the same amount of money and salary like he has in his team!!!! thi works perfect in mine!!!! i have ibrahimovic,kaka,sergio ramos,aguero,de rossi,torres…. note that i have normal master league level and normal transfer frequency!!!!!!!!!! i hope i helped

i signed Diego for about 12 million, i havent tried him but i think he is worth the money i spent on him

i just finished the winter transfers by signing Diego, i tried to sign Diego, Ribery and a striker like Tevez, Berbatov, or Benzema but they all turned down my offer even if i offered them 15 million with Trezeguet, i think that is because my team popularity is C and have about 24 million, i think that when i reach the summer transfers, im targeting Ribery and Tevez and to get the money to sign them is from the match bonus and by selling Trezeguet and jaquinta, if i sell Trezeguet and jaquinta i would have about 30 million and the match bonus overall wich iwill be around 50 million but i have to give the players their salary so that will make my money about 63 million so thats good for signing players like Ribery, Tevez, Benzema, Nasri, and Mexes or Rio Ferdinand

I play liverpool and nearly all my team is transferred players now. Took me 2 and half season to sign David Villa. When you scout players. And reports come in. Look at the % next to the Popularity. On players with no club at all, its a high % on players within a club is usually low unless they are unhappy. I used this % guide 3 seasons into my ML and found it makes transfers easier. Example Henry was like 14% and Martins was 78% , i managed to sign Martins but not Henry. This % changes alot so keep watching out for it.

So far i’ve signed, Lahm, Villa, Julio Baptista, Martins, Bentley, Defoe, van Persie ( sold him though ) and C. Ronaldo, Anelka, Sneider, Beckham, Ashley Young, Wilhilmson.

Guys, i’ve tried many times as mentioned and many ways especially when the intended players are struggling to be in first squad in their current team. My team popularity is S, 1st ranking in all clubs and my first team are all A’s. I tried transfer fees to max and wage double up but still failed to sign any players of my choice. During beginning of master league i chose Top Player and transfer frequency to HIGH. I think all of us are facing the same issues here.

Anyone else can solve this problem?

Good news, i signed Ribery for 12 million and sold iaquinta for about 12 million to Real Madrid.

I now have 3 strikers : Amauri, Del Piero, and Trezeguet. So i need a good striker like Tevez, Aguero, Benzema ( but i dont want strikers that i have to pay 20 million plus Trezeguet for them, i want to pay 15 million and less and Trezeguet) then i will buy a striker so i could have 4 strikers

To the people struggling to get players. Add a player to your scout list and wait until you get the mail ‘the scout report on XXX’ has arrived. Now go on your scout list and there should be a percentage next to the players name. This is how much the player wants to join your club, if his % is 0 they won’t join even with 5000 salary. This percentage is based on what league you are in and how successful your team is. This means it is pretty hard to sign very good players in the first 2 windows as your team is in division 2 (unless you edited). Also the longer a player is on your scout list the more his percentage will rise.

i can easily get a club to agree a fee but the actual players i’m trying to buy (e.g sergio ramos, daniel alves) never accept the money even if i offer 5000 P as their salary which is nearly 5x the amount. What do you think is a better contract to offer. I keep offering 1 year but do you think that they would prefer more years? Also i’m looking for a right back and a left mid. I am Man.United and have about 85000 P

Hint, try to buy Hamsik (midfielder) is gonna grow very much, and M.Zarate CF they don`t cost much and they are young so it`s easy to buy them and the sooner you`lle have them the better they will become.
Make a scout list and look at the % after a few seasons(and wins championship/champions leauge) than they will have more interests.
My team is Barcelona I just bought: Aguero Hamsik M.Zarate<love this guy Sergio Ramos, Rooney.
The problem now is that I win every!! game difficulty maxso now I have to try something else.

I always play my master leagues with custom squad so i get the default players. You get the chance to spend 1000 points before you start the season on any players (although you dont get much selection with this amount of points) i was wondering if anyone can advise me on who the best players to choose are at this stage as i m about to start a new master league!!!

Last time i took park ji sung as he is for some reason only 500 points but am not sure if this is the best idea!!!

Well I’ve recently bought PES 2009 for the Xbox 360.
I started a Master League (I’ve played previous PES versions, so know what it’s all about etc) and I’m not doing to badly, although I’m sure some people are doing much better than me.
Here are my “essential” Master League settings:
Game Level - Professional
ML Level - Normal
Transfr Freq. - Normal
Player Development - Yes.

I started with the default team (Ivarov, Jaric, Stein, Libbermann etc etc) and have sold many of the starting players.
I finished bottom of D2 and out of the cup in the first round in my first season, however during the mid-season transfer window I bought a Center-back called R. Kovac. He is slightly aged (mid-30’s) but a very solid defender, and helped curb the stream of goals I was conceding.

Then after the first season was up I invested in 4 more players, all of them free agents and 3 of them “Newcomers” (17-years old).
I bought a second center-back called Yasin. He has been very solid at the back, but I will come on to how my second season is going in a few moments. Two wingers (one left-footed and one right-footed); Marchand and Gambino. Both are excellent, and althoguh neither are perfect, both are great for their age. I also bought a striker called Van Der Meer, so far he has been the clubs top goalscorer.

In the first 11 games of my second season I won 7, and drew 8. Scored 9 goals and conceded 0. Giving me 25 points and a GD of 9. (Also a lead of 2 points from 2nd place at the time)

In the mid-season trasnfer market I bought, on a free transfer (yep I sure do like my potential talent, rather than established players XP), Orellano the center-forward.
However, now I have a dilema. I have two great strikers, and two great attacking/side midfielders, but I’m playing a 4-5-1 with the following starting 11:
GK: Ivarov
SB: Ruskin, El Moubarki
CB: Yasin, R. Kovac
DMF: Stein, Iouga
CMF: Dodo
SMF: Gambino, Marchand
CF: Van Der Meer/Orellano.

Any tips on other formations that may be effective with this team?

Im playing as Everton and two seasons in my popularity is B i have just won the D1 cup and its pre-season transfers… i cannot buy any player at all even players from teams with popularity C or players with popularity D … im getting angry with 09 my friend has the pes also but he has no problems and signs big player like kaka and torres… can anyone help me ?

Also, from what it seems, if you start as a team such as Man Utd, Juventus, Real Madrid, or any other “big” club” and have a high popularity to start with it seems that you have trouble signing big players, whereas those that start with the “lesser” teams have no trouble.

It would seem that if you start as the bigger clubs, you have to prove yourself before the big stars start to join you, whereas you have less to prove if you start with a popularity of D or so.
So heres the message: If you start with Man Utd or any other big club, win the Euro Championships and your own league before even contemplating buying the big players. If you start with the Master League default team, just buy players as your money/popularity increases.

Your problem is: If you have a lot of players that play in the same position, the one you are bidding won’t accept because the dificult to play on the starting team..

For all you people who have trouble buying players, its because its not just your team popularity that affects weeather the transfer is accepted or not!!!!!!!

You need to prove you can win titles.
You start in the bottom table, you need to get promoted, and than even if you win top table the season after you have still not even played in the european champ leage or cup.
Usually you will need to wait till the middle of 3rd season, or even the end of the 3rd season, before you can encourage the best players to join your team, when you are playing in (or won) the europen tournaments!!!!!!!

I figure Jennings1, Adams6, WW Wright8 and Bergkamp10 will freshen up my side. At least 3 of those were available in 08…

Kim Kun Aguero is the best player in the game. After three seasons of ML he has scored almost 300 goals for me. Unbeliveable! Other gems include Dagaka (RB), Arda Turan (SMF), and Gouffran (SMF). Players like Bojan, Ireland, and Pato develop into amazing players in ML too - Pato has the best shot in the game!!

Try offering less salary than the player is asking. . .it worked for me with Aguero,but I can’t sign Silva :(((. . .and If you want left back sign Maxwell. . .just offer him 820 salary. . .and ‘pro evo’ I think you are right. . .

Try these usually free, and good young players. You have to be patient (at least 2 seasons)

Gouffran
Nicolita
Orellano
Podolski (Pomatski)

Not so free, but good:

Arda Turan
D. Bent
Raul Albiol
Barzagli
Dos Santos

and many more, those players won’t complicate, meaning you will easily get them, and will develop for sure.

dude it is easy… i started off with the basic team, now I have Torres, Aguero, Kaka, C. Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Ashley cole, Joe cole, park ji sung (BEST PLAYER EVER) lol, M. Zarate (hes really good-has so far scored about 60 league goals in about 20 matches:):):):), Silva, John Terry, Cech, Agger and Vidic. And i have never offered above 45000 points, which was for C RONALDO, but usually its like 30, 000.

I’m using Inter Milan in the master league. I have only been able to sign John Terry. Everything on PES 2009 Is something else. I tried trading Adriano for Bojan from Barcelona and it was rejected. Just cant beleive wht my eyes saw. It seems pro 9 is more difficult than i think. I think i’ve really got to trap up if i want to sign any better player on here. With Inter Milan your Direct Shots are guaranteed with a sweet goal. Mancini is a master dribbler. Adriano has got all the power to take three defenders and shoot. Pirlo is the Master Free kick taker. PES Is challengin but not bad at all.

Alright: Here is what you do: If you are REALLY desperate, set the masterleague level to ‘very easy’, and transfer level to ‘high’. Im pretty sure you can do this in the off-season. Also, put people onto your scout list about 5-6 weeks before negotiations = you can see how likely they are to come. And, buy people in the last two weeks of the negotiation period - clubs are usually more likely to sell then. And finally, though some may see it as cheating, save before you do negotiations, and try for 5 people, e.g Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, Kaka. Silva, and if none come, exit out and either try again or try for someone else.

first, my recomendations and why:

1. Buy Motta– Man I played against Atletico (who got him) and he is a beast in the midfield.
2. Buy mexican promise Carlos Vela from Arsenal, to future, top class!!!
3. Kalou and Quaresma, as well as Joe and Ashley Cole are amazing.

My questions are the following, I am close to transfer season.

hey i have the same problem..for the first 3 seasons it is qiute difficult..but putting players on the scout list makes it easier. I got robinho recently. i play with United (pop :S). also at the begining i bought 2 players (odonkor and valbuena) since i had a problem with lack of fast runners. now their parameters have improved a lot and i use them to replace player with fatigue.

i’m ac milan and i’ve got loads of good buys. in my first season in serie a(renamed it)i bought diego,gouffran,beckham n ricardo gardner(good rightback). in my secon season i bought amr zaki,odonkor and elano(swapped beckham).
pato’s stats increase MADLY he’s now my best player and kaka shows no sign of slowing down. odonkors got 3 goals in his first five games in my 3rd season and im keepin track on arda turan,kun aguero n gambino.

The start of the ML is kinda like being Man City, you might have loads of money but Kaka ain’t gonna come yet.

Instead in my 1st season (2/3rds done 3rd in league and in final of cup) I’ve bought 2-3 players for cheap (Petric is a beast) and Orrelano and Kaiser for the future.

So basically start of small. Think signing Bellamy and De Jong and improving your team all round rather than thinking MESSI!!!!!

btw u no when u go on Ur scout list and for example ive got hamisk recommended from ToxicX, so it says his name and then the points of the player then it has that percentage, and player pop and then the heart.

what does that heart mean??? mine are half way on it and also does that percentage mean how much he is interested in your club and if it does how high does it have to be until u can get his quite easily???

I admit that I cheated in making a player that has max stats on everything, and all the special abilities. I have been trying to sign him since the first transfer period of the season, and I’m halfway through my second transfer period. My team’s ranking is S (Man Utd), I haven’t won the European Championship (I’m on my 1st season in the top division of the league) and I’ve been offering 5000 (max transfer amount) and whatever the max is for salary, and I’ve toyed around with the contract years, and I get rejected every single time. I’ve got 3 strikers (Rooney, Berbatov, and El Hamdaoui (top scorer of the Eredivisie, bought him on my first offer)) and I’ve got Ronaldo, who kinda counts as a forward (cuz the player I created is a forward and attacking/wing midfielder). Anybody know what I can do to get this guy?

The problem i have is that i’m being sensible, trying to get players from lower class teams. But still they won’t come. So much money, and i can’t even buy Diego (GK) or Kameni! I’ll try some players suggested here i guess.

If you have started a master league after the feburary transfer update then you should buy Johan Gourcuff. His development curve has been changed to ridiculously high and all stats go above 95.

I’ve just cranked up the difficulty in Master LEague was playing Regular now on Professional, with Master League settings on “Very Hard” finished 4th from bottom in first season with default players, but Castolo develops really well for a 35 year old, signed Gervinho who becomes really good, just finished 2nd season and now promoted but lost D2 Cup Semi Final on Penalties, also signed a young (Re spawned) Van Der Sar, Rivero, Dansil & Jovanevic are all good Central Midfielders to sign whilst Odonker, Marchand brilliant wingers. Please give any reccomendations for signings

There are a lots of good players out there if you have the time to find them. I started with the masters league standard team and 10,000 points on 5 stars and bought young newcomers and trained them up. Most players I have are young and as you start with little money, these are a cheap alternative if you got the time to train them up. The only players worth keeping are Gutierrez, Jaric is an ok defender, Ruskin and El Moubarki are also ok for a short time but really, you need to get rid of most of the players. Try and swap some with other young players, ie I got El Zhar as a swap and he turns out to be very agile and good at dribbling into the box. In the standard squad, Gutierrez gets pretty good, kinda like berbatov stumbling aroung the pitch. As for midfielders, I always but Merino as soon as he gets generated, partly because I have always bought him ever since he was introduced in an earlier PES but he also has a good shot on him and can score goals as a midfielder, he also gets awesome pass stats. This time I also have Kaiser (CMF) who looks like he’s gonna be the best player on the game in a few seasons. Yamada also gets improves quickly from a young age and has a killer shot on him, he is quite small in height but gets a huge jump stat. I also suggest buying corini as a DMF or if you can afford him get Huddlestone, he becomes amazing and can play as a tall DMF to win all the opponents long goal kicks. Wolf trains well to become a good keeper (age 22, keeper skill 95 response 96). For defence, Bianchi improves fast (age 21, defence 94, body balance 95) and I also got a german guy called Gunther who turns out to be pretty good. Another CB to look out for is Bos. I also have Marchand but got a guy called Obertan instead of Odonker but both are excellent wingers. Walcott is also good if you can buy him early enough. Guimaraes is a brilliant right back and gets good early as does Van Dijk on the left. The 1 player you need to buy is Bendtner, he’s tall, fast, has good header ability and will win most high balls, can dribble and has a great shot if you get him early and train him well. Orellano is another good striker and has 97 agility at 17 years old, he will be as good if not better than Messi but wont hit his best until he’s about 28. He’s still good enough to play but he’ll be unstopable at 28. Another one to look out for is Chermiti, he’s a left footed second striker and plays on the right side of the CF in my team. Got him at 21 and he quickly improves to be fast and has a deadly shot from the right side bursting into the box with his left foot. Hope this helps.

Sign Hamsik from Napoli! better than Xavi…. also I signed Kerlon, Odonkor is a good freebie and is very fast, useful until u get better players.

Does anyone else find that players get sent off really easily in PES 2009, the simplest tackle even if you get the ball results in Yellow or worse Red cards and any tackle regardless of it being good from behind is a straight red !

I’m also finding it difficult to sell players i place on the transfer list, they never get sold, so i end up releasing them for free to make space in my squad.

As for the Striker reccomended by loads of you, Ballotelli he has amazing stats and dribble speed of plus 85+ but he still seems rather slow & clumsly ala Peter Crouch or Heskey !

ppl what u should do is buy your players at the end of season this way reset the master league level to very easy and you will soon notice that transfers are a lot easier. this is how i bought Benzema, Aguero, Silva, Agger etc. then before the season starts up again and u got your players put the master league level back to watever you play on. my team is killer!!!

Mark, I played Gutierrez so many times until I got a decent striker, he just got pretty good. shot accuracy of 90, well above what the graph says for him, didn’t know players could improve that much over their graph line.

Played him against Barca in champs league quaterfinals and he did ok, only cos bendtner was suspended tho.

Does anyone else find that the AI plays a bigger part in the game, in pes 2008 you could change the settings so that you could change cursor manually or settings 1-5. I preferred manual and i dont see the option in pes 2009.
Ive got players getting sent off for slide tackles off screen and the computer kicking the ball out when the opposition attacks because the cursor keeps changing.

started a seezon wiv barcelona with th default players ivarov, ordaz u know. At the end of my first seezon i’d bought a tunisian guy named chirne but make sure u buy him erly because he”ll be impossible to get in your secon seezon. Barnetta will be better than ballack, trust me cuz i’v bought him. The lanky austrian Harnik will be a bit annoying jus like adebayor and just wen u wanna sell him he scores vital goals but he”ll peak at aged 28 i fink.
Midway through my secon seezon i bought hamit altintop. Petric is a GREAT buy he’s croatian and at age 27 he”ll be hard to get because i had to fight off interest from 3 other clubs befor i finally signed him aged 28. He plays like adriano, big, strong, hard shot and can hold the ball up to bring others into the game. I also bought victor valdes and oleguer back. Tiago of juventus and is portuguese i got on a freebie but is solid defensive mid. Bojan krkic well what can u say really fast great shot and peaks a bit later than evry1 else but u gotta be patient.
I need to ask evry1 when do gambino and orellano com through becuz i’m nearly in the transfer seezon in my 3rd seezon and i cant find them on their nationalities italy and argentina or in the ‘newcomers’ area. I hear evry1 talkin about em but i cant even find em. Plz help

Sergio Garcia, he is a SS, CF and midfielder and i mainly use him as a SS in a 4-4-2 formation. i think during your 1st season he is 24 and he is unbelievably useful trust me, especially when it comes to shot accuracy and passing skills. Another useful CF is Inter’s Obinna, who is a reserve for them. His has 96 top speed and although he misses out a bit on the accuracy, you can get him 1-1 with the keeper very easily, and then accuracy plays no part. Also, I suggest Yeste, left footed SMF, remarkable passer and shooter. Now if you’re looking for a keeper, I advise you to check out Solimar or Diego. They’re both very young (18 I think) and very skilled from the start. For the CB position I recommend Gunther. Also, if you’re looking for fresh blood sort of speak, Panathinaikos has 2 players who will definetely pay off the time you spent upgrading them. One is Ninis (17-18) and the other one is Lazaros (23 I think). Imagine that now in my 3rd season, they in the starting 11 in an S popularity club and you can get them for nothing at all. I play a 4-2-4 formation with a ‘Z shaped’ defensive line (It is the best ….i’ve learnt) and a straight midfield (one DMF and one AMF). A ‘SS’ behind the CF and my two wingers on either side. Have never lost a match since my first yr in the division 2 and play in Lega Calcio. Never restarted a match. Started with default players. Played for 9 seasons. Last season scored 188 goals. Chirne has 530 + goals. Ronaldo has over 200 assists. Popularity level ‘S’. All my players are loyal….their hearts are either full or almost full. I love my team….thinking about signing Orellano, Kaiser and Bianchi soon.

Players Preview:

Diego is the best keeper in the game. No Doubt. Learn to use him and His lack of abilities becomes negligible. He cannot be passed. An excellent captain.
Ramon is a very versitile keeper. Very good and quick. Develops into a brick wall….excellent keeper to train and use.

Raul Albiol and Planus are a match together in the defense especially as Planus can hold a defensive line and Albiol has the speed and defense to get any ball.
Bos is a must have. He will develop into your most useful payer….fit to play in every position on the field his stats are amazing all over 85 even shot accuracy….scary.
Caceres is an easy player to get and wins alot of the balls. Good find as a CB.

De Jong works very welll on the left side …..even better than on the right….No idea why. And Delafiore works excellently with Ronaldo. The both can delivery magical crosses and score themselves.

Gargano is a work of art. He has great defense and can score with his eyes closed from distance. A must have in the defensive misfield. He falls back excellently to help out the defenders.
His replacements are relatively good especially Nocerino.

Gouffran is an excellent AMF although he is not a natural AMF player. He can pass excellently and scores SCREAMERS. He can also function as a CF if needed and is another must have. Tall and Too fast …lol.
Naismith and Maxi Rodriguez are both excellent AMF players. They develop regularly but are excellent scorers. Essential players who can make a world of difference as substitutes or starting players.

Need I say anything about the wingers….Ronaldo speaks for himself and Silva is a bullet. they score at any opportunity and they are THE best wingers in the game. Be careful though….they need constant attention or their stats will drop especially Ronaldo. Play them every other match if u are developing two teams like myself. Silva is very quick and agile. Two must haves.
Nihat may not be as fast as C.Ronaldo but makes up with the excellent strikes. He can also take a mean free kick.
Messi ….Messi….Messi…..hmmm no words needed. An excellent player. A bit selfish at times especially since he likes to run ahead and cause offisides but used properly he impresses. Another must have.

Chirne is one of the best players in the game. He develops very quickly and is very very quick. By far one of the best. A must sign. He maxes higher than 95 in his stats and doesnt miss shots or heads. Played him as a CF because he is TALL and never misses a header. He is also an excellent finisher. Direct your shot and its in.
Benzema…..same as CHirne. Doesnt need much attention. Is a great Striker. One of the Best.

Will keep u guys posted….These are some of the best players to have. They work together very well.

Ohhh i forgot Aguero and Boyan Krkic……lol

Two little bullets. Extremely quick and annoying. They score with ease and are assets to support the CF when he has fallen back. The are essential parts of the secondary attack force and can penetrate defense easily with their pace and dribble ability.

Nihat and Chirne can also be played as SS also…Ronaldo …..Silva…..Naismith…..and Maxi
Rodriguez so they team in itself has substitutes for each position.

i find it hard to sign players for roma on loan or permanent basis i tried signing hugo viana from valencia i also tried loaning pato from milan because he hasnt played a game for them, if you get to the stage where you can offer the wages and how many yearsdoes that mean the player rejects it? also sign palacio of boca juniors he is quality on pro evo!

am P.S.G just finished my third season. thinking of signing romario. i dont sign many classic players but i dont half love playing against them.

ive got CEREZO. He is a complete legend. controls the midfield and drives forward very well at times. cerezo recently took over makelele as my captain. makelele was 37 when i released him. he was in the team week in and out but come to my third season he got real tired after matched so i had to release him. at 37 he’s was one of the best players ive controlled.

BONNET is another class act. i dont know if he is a classic but i found him and he hasn’t half developed into the best left mid on the game. top assist.

GERVINHO from ivory cost has bagged 15+goals in his first season as a winger. recently played the WORLD SELECTION and he tore them apart.

ORELLANO. Well what can i say. signed him at 17yrs old and he hasn’t looked back. in his first full season scored 23 goals total at 18yrs old. top scorer in the D1 cup and Overall best player. Orellano has managed to push GUILY out of my team.

Guily infact was the first player ive ever had to have top goal scorer and overall best player in the league 2 years in a row and he was world player of the year 3 years in a row. still going strong at 34yrs old. sold him to monaco. GD player. maintains abilities at late age.

CHAPI is my new rising star aswell. scored some crucial goals at 17.

As someone said up top you have to win the European Championship before you can coax the best players to your club. Bos is a prime example. I tried before in my 3rd season when he was at Deportivo la Coruna but they didn’t even glance at my offer. But then I signed Aquilani, Drenthe and Agger and all of a sudden they’re accepting a jokey offer from me but I decided that it would be good to add a player of his class to my squad.

A tip for all of you all, if you don’t already know if you press R1+L1+L2 when you have the ball you can perform a simulated dive, Drogba/Robben style !

BE warned though if you try to use this in the opposition’s penalty area you will be booked (yellow card) the only time i managed to con the computer referee was when i was having my shirt pulled, so try it when ever your shirt is pulled in the are to win penalties !

Once I have just a short time to play every now and then, for me, things work like this: I only look for players in Easy Search by Openess to Negotiation, anything besides that is waste of time and effort in saving / reloading over and over. Try to get Zarate as soon as your popularity raises up to “S”. Do trade with Lazio giving them Van Nestroley and 22000 points plus. He will help you a lot. Don’t forget Madretesta that Real Madrid indeed was interested in the player last year. Get him and you will not forget me forever. He is like Messi and Aguri. He is fast and skillful. My 1st team is amazing and last season AGBONLAHOR scored over 90 goals which is outstanding! BENZEMA is a very skillful dribbler and amazing finisher. So those 2 forwards are very good buys! I recently bought a bit of young talent…WELBECK seems promising for the future and is only 19. PATO has already shown me what he can do! I have had A.FERDINAND on my time for a while now and has earnt himself the captaincy. He is a solid defender. MICAH RICHARDS is also a young solid defender! SERGIO GARCIA has more experience as a defender and tackles anyone that gets past! I bought NANI last season and he has made some really good performances. I think a bit more time at my club and he will be one of my top players. I took a risk buying VAN DER SAR because I have never bought a regenerated player before. As a 19 year old he has a long way to go but so far we have conceded the joint least number of goals this season on top player difficulty. I’m not sure if that’s because of my defence though!
At the end of this season I am not sure about who to sell and buy. I want MESSI to replace MODRIC in the center but have offered full price and full salary to him but he still wont come even though my team has been rated S for 3 seasons now so I am thinking of offering AGBONLAHOR in a trade deal. The same applys to RONALDO who I would like to replace BENDTNER on the right but he still wont come! I would like INIESTA to replace SILVA in defensive midfield. If I do sell AGBONLAHOR then there will be a position available in attack. I could offer this position to PATO and move SILVA into his position or I could give it to MESSI and keep PATO where he is. On my scout list I also have AGUERO, TORRES, ROONEY, SNEIJDER, ESSIEN, BOJAN which I may have to think about buying if I cant buy some of the others!

I have a siik team. Im a pretty hardcore pro player so i started on top player with the default players. Won the league first season, then came second in top division second season, then won everything third season. no trouble!!Just thriving of youngsters and people like filander(stats are class, great bargain and what a squad player later on).

But my boi is my main man harnik, he is proper siik, he scores bare goals for fun. Scored 10 in one game on top player, dont think anyone has mentioned doing that before???

As for Jean, he is big french and has such a deft touch when knocking in those corners. What a ganster!!

Hi, guys just reading these comments, i agree with alot of the stuff on this page. Everyone here seems like true pro evo fans unlike some other forums.

My team is pretty cool really and its not doing to badly considering i started of with the crem de la crem of jaric, ivarov and espimas(although he did bang in a few important goals). I think this should be the only option on the master league like it used to be. What do you the real pro evo fans think??

I also thought playing on top player was a givin, why would you play professional or less(i saw the comments above about people playing worse levels), but what is the point, is the whole aim of todays society not to challenge yourself?? With someone like giovinco on a lower standard i could probably score around 11 goals on average per game?But what is the point in this? I dont understand?why would people do this?why not play at the top and try be there? Do you think west brom, went into fergies changing room and asked him to play a bit of the top off there game? I dont think so!!!

And has anyone mentioned freidrikson the young goalkeeper. He is amazing at set pieces. Bangs them in for fun!!Couldnt hold shit but who cares when he bangs in the free kicks!!I dont?

A tip for all of you all, if you don’t already know if you press R1+L1+L2 when you have the ball you can perform a simulated dive, Drogba/Robben style !

BE warned though if you try to use this in the opposition’s penalty area you will be booked (yellow card) the only time i managed to con the computer referee was when i was having my shirt pulled, so try it when ever your shirt is pulled in the are to win penalties !

Hi guys, I thought I would just let you know that I am available for any photoshoots or fete openings as I have recently left Walner FC for a modelling career. Whilst I was there though my managers realised it wasn’t about the “big guns” any more. You need a mix of real characters to see you through the tough times. It’s not often you see your old team mates beat N on penalties with 8 men left. It truly is magical down at Thane Villas Stadium these days. Their youth academy is flourishing. REally producing the best in the league.

Things are looking good here at Lager FC. Wsages have been on a bit of a freeze what with the current climate. On the plus side I get paid in PES and the exchange rate is pretty good against the dollar these days.

Yeah not sure who these idiots are talking about. Henry? Kaka? Messi? Last time I checked it was young Wolf who had smashed the transfer record. I’m getting old though - i remember the days when Fouque was the most expensive player in League D. How things change - I think Fuqs is currently selling celery from a disused ambulance outside Thane Villas Stadium .

What I am trying to say is that he is a member of Lager FC so keep your grubby mitts off him. Looking at your choices now it’s all starting to make sense. Manul, your team is a standard start over Master League team, only with a few improvements in each position. Must vary nice to play with, and a big challenge as well.
Someday I´ll try to get the initial team, turn off the “players develop” option and play it through the english league. Maybe I´ll smash my controller to the floor in frustration when I lose five matches in a roll, but it´s something I have to live through…heheheh

Some more tips

Shubin: Can usually pick him up for free, takes a while to come through as he’s only 17, but turns into a nippy little cm. WILL run all game for you.

Orondor. Runs faster than Gary Glitter would to pick up jackos PC and can smash the odd 30 yarder. Bring him in on against a tired defence and he will scare the sh!t outta them.

Rami. Good CB you can pick up for under 4k

and as said above Chirne is amazing, Zaki is a goal monster and Gouffran is as good/frustarting as Asprilla was.

and for some reason, this team is battling it out with Chelsea for the top place in Div 1 and Ivarov is still my keeper

A good team to be is Girondins De Bordeaux. They improve and a brilliant player is Jurietti who plays at Right Back, he is quite good at coming up for corners and getting his foot and head on it. He is quite fast but he fits in at Right Back very well.. Another good player is Chamakh, he’s a Center Forward and is very fast and good at finishing. Also Gourcuff, absolutely amazing at crossing and getting lots of assists, in my first game of the master league with them I got three assists with him. And another good player is Tremoulinas at Left Back, he grows into a amazing player and very fast to start of with aswel. Im only 5 games into my first season and these players are amazing.

I have won the equivalent of the champions league twice back to back. I am current holders of the league. i have just finished the first transfer window, weeks prior to this i have established my team at the top of the league an qualified for the knock out stage of Europe.
In this transfer window my targets were;
Pato
Aguero
Hentigua (defender not 100% spelling)
Silva
and a stand in goal keeper.
I was successful in obtaining all these targets as well as getting 20,000 pes points” for a 31 year old Robbie Keane. Result.
However the reason i am writing in is this, my main summer target was non other than C.Ronaldo. I offered the maximum transfer and an exchange player. once moderic who is highly rated player on my game and a player called gervino (again spelling not 100%) (for description purposes he is tall, fast, black and has short braided hair) if you know who i mean?)

So can anyone give me advice or tell me why i cant acquire Ronaldo?

Thanks yussuf (comment 57) I switched the position for torres iaquinta villa ibrahimovic aguero c. Ronaldo and Rooney to goal keeper and the percentage went up about 57% for most of them and now have them all on my team!!!

People buy Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik, both from S.S.C Napoli in Serie A they are good at the start and inprove a lot. Lavezzi gets better then Lionel Messi and Hamsik gets better then Xavi Hernandez. Buy Buy Buy people!!!

i guess the mistake most people make is they to look for superstars (kaka, ronaldo, rooney, ribery..etc) no wonder their clubs will reject offers to but them because they are their club’s biggest asset. besides, this spoil the beauty of the game as I want to play against the likes of ronaldo kaka aguero messi and be able to beat them.
why not try to signing mediocre young players?! many of them will explode in most abilities, develop considerably over time. I did this and ripped every team i faced.
I bought HULK & GIGNAC for fun and quite frankly they truned to be great signings! I play in Superstar mode and I won all trophies with top scorer, top assist and best player in every competition.
HULK: body balance: 95, speed: 95, dribble: 95, shoot power: 95.
GIGNAC: BD: 95, SPD: 93, DRBL: 94, SHT PWR: 95.

SunnyBoy dont sign Benjani or Bodmer there are much better players out there. You can’t get Benzema yet so just have him in your Scout list. You can get players like Chirne(tunisia) who will develop like mad. Get Gouffran(france) he will also develop like a shooting star. Try to sign goalkeepers like Solimar or Kim U Don and get forwards like Pato.
Going after Aguero when you’re only a year and a half through the game is not a good choice, he will knock you back everytime. Comments above say you have to play in the european championship before you can coax the big players to your club and that’s true. Put off signing Aguero until half way through your third year when you’ve played in Europe.

By the way MHDKAZ to buy bos you need between 13000-20500 P . Ribery is worth around 20000 P so he’s not that cheap. But some good cheaps mids are Jovancevic, Ramsey, Bonnart, Gouffran, Denilson, Chirne, Van Der Vaart.

jack oconnor hav u played in the european cup yet becaus u hav to hav played in that to attract good players. Plus when bidding for a player just bid like +1500 or less onto their original price range.

i too have experianced simliar problems i siginging players (offering the max transfer P of 60000 and then offering 5000 P to the player) After hours of messing around with different combos i have found that quite often it is a good idea to offer a lower amount of P. e.g i play as Man Utd popularity S & have just started a new ML in my 3rd season on top player hardest ML setting and normal transfer frequency. i was trying to sign Orellano with the top amount of P for sometime and kept getting rejected. I THEN offered just 29000 P for the transfer and around 3800 for his salary. I got him. which makes me feel the transfer system can tell if you are just trying to monopolise the league by paying over the odds for player ala man city going for Kaka for 120 mil in janruary and Real paying 60 for him in the summer. its more than just the price you are paying for the player. to be honest im hoping that the whole transfer system gets overhauled again for pes2010 because its pretty poor on 09

Hey guys, im playin with Man Utd (pop:S ) im currently on my 3rd season now, had a problem in transfers the past 2 seasons aswell. Puttin players in your scouting list some weeks before the transfer period works a lot:) Erm on the mid-season transfers i signed Diego (GK), Hamsik(MF), Silva(SMF), M.Zarate(CF) and Aguero(CF)(on loan) and sold Saha and Kuczak. Im lookin for a CBs and SBs, ive added some players on my scouting list such as Bonnant (his stats look really good), Denther, Bos, and many others that i cant remember. I strongly recommend buying Gouffran , he is cheap and will become a very good player with the right skills ( strong power shot , good technique, strong and good at dribling )

I have him at Atletico Madrid with Sergio Aguero , they are both doing a great job forward , 2 amazing players .

A little advice : Buy young players , no matter how weak they are , if you’re good at PES and you play with them they will become top class . Also aim for Top Speed players , and players with good techinquie and strong shot . Sell all your oldy players ( 28 up ) .

Ok guys, PLEEEZ dont take the piss out of a girl who loves her football!!!

Here’s where i’m stuck…just got an xbox360, and PES09 was the first game i purchased…of course!!!

I’ve always been a massive fan of the master league. Probably because of this - in previous editions of the game, i’ve had enough PES at the start to buy around, i think, six players or so, maybe more.

I’ve won the world cup as England on the 360, gone back into master league to start a new one, but still only have 1000 points to play around with!!!

Is there any way, on the 360 version of PES 09, to do this? So that when you start your master league you have more than 1000 points to buy players with, before the first game starts?

Played the PS2 version at the weekend, and they still have the PES shop, the bastards, where all this kinda stuff could be purchased or unlocked!!!

Any help would be fantastic!

Playing on PS2, I’m into my 8th season with Man Utd now. I’ve won the treble in just about every season, and every transfer window I have my bids for Benzema and Messi turned down even though I’ve maxed the transfer and salary offers and added in Tevez and Nani respectively to trade. It’s getting annoying.

Apart from that, Rafael and Fabio have both blossomed into amazing attacking full-backs, my centre midfield duo of Hamsik and Veloso have been stalwarts for the pass couple of seasons, and Maxi Rodriguez, whom I picked up on a free about 4 seasons back has led the league in assists (20+) every time since. Pato on a free has been ridiculous as well; got him in the 3rd season and his goal ratio is about 0.75. However, not getting players with maxed out bids still irks me. It shouldn’t be entirely impossilble to get the likes of Benzema/Messi/Aguerro/Silva right?

CB 5-Cannavaro (19 yrs old and solid, well-known world class)
CB 15- Cabrera (171m only but very solid, similar to Cordoba)

I was trying to buy Bos for DMF, but changed my mind when Cem starts to rise really good, he is somehow special, although he got no stars, I think PES gives some player special hidden abilities that can not be changed!

I really recommend you guys buying CACERES, he is very solid. And AMOREBIETA, very cheap and really good. MARCHISIO, hard worker, defensively and offensively he is perfect. HARNIK, cheap but pure world class, compare him to TORRES. HAMSIK, fantastic play maker and also a good SMF player.

My advice, always look for high in Mentality and Teamwork players if possible. It really affects the team performance.

I would like to add that Cavenaghi who plays for Bordeaux is one of the best buys i have ever made on a pro evo game. very very cheap and is one of the most potent goalscorers in the game, well worth having for the subs bench

I´ve won the European championship 3 times in a row, the same with league and cup. Juventus - S - 190.000 pionts.
Best players - cheap, very good, fast growing in points and abbilitys: clichy - naldo - pato - sagna - chirne - gambino (22 and improving all the time, best dribbler and shotabbilities of 90-95-90) - bojan - gourcuff - giovinco (4 seasons and he´s better than messi!)

in my oppinion it´s impossible to sign one of the TOP-players like ronaldo, messi and torres. that needs a lot of time. i got youngsters and “normal” players like ronaldinho, robinho, ribery, lahm, berbatov and so on.

always save before transfer period…

Mike wolf and solimar are some of the greatest keepers in the game
Wolf is German and already has a gk attribute of 88 at 19!
Solimar is brazilian and is on 92-95 gk attributes at 21!

I have found a player that is very fast!! His name is Odonkor and he is german. He is so good, i play him on the right and owns the defenders. And he is very low asking price, i think it was 480p. You need to put your master league level on very easy to buy him. Also, if you are desperate for players, put your master league level on very easy. To do this, you go to options the master league menu and go into general settings. There is master league level, click it and select very easy. I think you cant do it at the start of the season but you can do it at the end negoations.

I hope that in PES2010 the transfers will be easier. In PES2009 i play with Man Utd,in the last 3 seasons i´ve won the league, the cup and the “champions league”. My team is class S, i’im nº 6 in club ranking and i just can’t hire any good players (Just Pato). I’ve offered the maximum price with de maximum salary to players that doesn’t even made the first 11 during the season and still they refuse!! What really makes me mad is that sometimes the answer is “…He wants to play for a team that fights for the championship…” I’VE WON THE LAST 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE ENGLISH LEAGUE + ALL THE CUPS. As you can see, I do like using Classic players which doesn’t seem to be popular on this board. Personally I think they make a great addition to the player pool that you can transfer from. The benefit of being able to sign a top quality player with no transfer fee (if you’re quick enough) is worth it alone. On top of that you get to assemble “All Time Great” sides that are great fun to play with and the CPU controlled clubs soon follow suit so you get some high quality opposition to test your side against.
If you are struggling to attract big names of the current era players then signing a couple of (free) legends will boost your clubs’ poularity and make the Rooneys and Gerrards of this world much easier to sign.
I note that some posters above have used the regenerated Classic players as have I. The problem with this approach is that the player must first retire then regenerate. For those of you who are impatient like me there are a few TOP quality Classic players that you can aquire at a young age. Three that deserve mention are Leao (Brazilian Goalkeeper), Sammer (German Defender), and Julio Cesar (Brazilian Defender\Defensive Midfielder). This trio can all be bought in their early twenties, have great development curves and will form a mean defensive backbone for about 8-10 seasons.

For the PS2, PES2009 I have found a player that statswise seems to be the TOP forward of the game, his name is Mokrani, he is not a created or edited player, I havent played with him too much, just the post season games and so far he goes nice, specially with his Teamwork stats, he behaves very realistic while handling the ball. He costs 400-500 and at 22 his stats are SUPERB!!!!

hey guys , if you need a great striker i syggest agbonlahor of aston villa , he plays in any position and is crazy fast strong and accurate

and for some reason they rate him really low and its easy to buy him if your team is ranked higher than his . hes a great transfer i , bought him twice with milan and with barcelona and every time he scored an average of about 25 goals and never let me down when my strikers were injured and i needed a goal .

The way to buy theese experienced highly priced players is that you must get your popularity to a b or a maybe c trust me i have completed 3 seasons i am with liverpool here is my line up

the reason why i play with a formation like this is because you have a very strong midfield and you have alot of key players around you to make your play but choose wisely of who you decide to put in the roles because one mistake can affect the whole team and make sure your quality players are getting enough rest so their not lagged and make substitution to be an active manger also if you have kept a clean sheet then you get bonus points which is very affective because it will rise your popularity it will easily enable difficult neogotiations thank u hope i have helped

BUY CHIRNE he turns out to be the best player ever if you play him right better than any player eve on the game , for me hes won evey title going and scod over 70 goals in all competitions and this is on the hardest level on the game , also BIRSA is brilliant a young defender called fernandez is amazing bos gunther kaiser is amazing

my team in order. also get kim un dol or something like that don’t remember exactly the name but he is a gk with defence at 93 and keeper skill at 97 and his age is at 17, i think he is avalable after the 4th season.

messi, is the best by far, get him early with you first start because he will develop like crazy, in the 4th season, all of messi assets will be 95-99. except for defence at 65-70.and teamwork at 87. also get andre(potgugal) he is the most well rounded all starts 90 or above.
also i can’t seem to get nijkamp, aguero or benzema, tried to increase transer and salary can’t get them, tried to lower it can’t get them either,saved it and quit and tried again, can’t get them either, gave them 15 diffefent offers, 2 hours each offer saveing and quiting and still can’t get them, any help will be apprecated, please, also i currently club ranked 1, and 4 seasons without a single loss or draw. average goals scored per season 90.i am currently at the end of the 5 season, negoation period. hepl please, also i know i made tons of mistake in the paragraph.

well,i prefer start a master league with default players (ivarov,jaric,minanda etc.,and i still keep them until 2nd season,only signing newcomers like gambino,shubin,leclerc and original francesco toldo for goalkeeper,honestly i still can’t manage defenders well in the game)it’s way too easy to play with match mode players(except if i start the game in main division,can i?)and waiting to promote in a season is way too long for me.and where i can get the 2010 season patch for PES2009?help me please i’m dried boring and i’m lack of bucks.heheh.thank you
