PES 2010: Six major improvements to Master League mode

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is definitely looking to be the best in the series yet in terms of presentation, graphics, and game modes.  For me, a lot of of PES fans, Master League is the definitive mode since it offers a at least 40+ hours plus of exciting gameplay per ML team, and if Konami can improve ML alone, then PES 2010 is always going to be worth buying.

So what improvements in Master League mode are we going to see in PES 2010 later this year?  All the details below are confirmed and announced by Konami.

  1. Real currency - PES 2010 Master League now deals in real currency such as pounds, dollars, and euros.  This makes buying and selling  players, as well as sponsorship and prize money amounts more realistic and more logical to understand.  At this point it is not known how accurate the players will be valued within the game in terms of a real world value, but regardless, this is a massive improvement.
  2. Integrated Champions League - PES 2009 offered a stand-alone Champions League mode which would see your team progress through an official and realistic representation of the tournament.  However, when you playing Master League, when you team played through the same tournament, it wasn’t called the Champions League, and none of the presentation of the tournament was included.  PES 2010 allows your Master League team to progress through the Champions League tournament as if you were playing the stand-alone game mode.  My personal opinion is that this will make progressing to the tournament much more exciting, and bring an atmosphere to the Master League mode that we haven’t seen before.
  3. Club sponsorship -  PES 2010 has just been given some extra financial depth thanks to Konami adding the chance to accept sponsorship deals.  The sponsorship deals will work in a very similar vein to those in the recent racing games such as Race Driver: GRiD - ie your club will only receive the sponsorship money if your team meets certain pre-set criteria, such winning 75% 0f your home games per season, or finishing in the top three for the the season.  I’m really looking forward to this new element since it brings in an extra element of ambition and success measurement for your club.
  4. Youth Team development - PES 2010 Master League allows you to be in control of you manage your youth squad, and offers you the opportunity to invest money and extra training into players who you think have a good potential to be a great player.  This really adds a whole new strategy element to the game since it allows you to carefully monitor your players, and plan a team for a few seasons away.  Of course youth team development also allows you to become a ’selling club’ which grows bright young stars in the aim to sell them on for huge profit.
  5. Realistic season calender - Previous PES Master League modes have scheduled the season’s games based on what week they were on, so for example the average season lasted around 40 weeks, and each game would be on a different week.  In PES 2010, the season calender is scheduled around real months with weeks, as well as 1st and 2nd half of the season.  This improvement alone shows Konami’s commitment to improving the realism and presentation of the mode, making it an all round better experience for the player.
  6. Master League news ticker -  The administration screens within PES 2010 Master League have a news ticker (scrolling news) which displays latest club, transfer, and season news.  Expect to see player gossip, news about international games, and transfer activity.  Konami have also promised quotes from players and other club managers to appear in this news.

This looks like the biggest overhall since the series started, I’ve been playing Pro Evo since the PS1 version and this will hopefully be the best ever.

konami had a pes management game out a while ago (that apparently wasnt good) id always wished they integrated the two a bit to add even more depth…. it looks like they have.

im waiting till thers a version where you can create your own manager for the sidelines instead of the random ones you got in the last two..ALL ABOUT DETAILS!

glad 2 c changes. can stand fifa but have been getting frustrated with pro 2009 recently. ojline play is slow and predictible and loses the flow of the normal mode and ML is way to easy to win even on the highest levels. I scored over 185 goals in one season which is just not realistic , with players like martins , obinna , ronaldo with their pace is far to easy to twine defenders and makes the game 2 easy . CANT WAIT 2 2010 ,I WANT THE COMPUTER TO BEAT ME!

But will they sort out the annoying thing which is everytime your want to play with a friend they have to reconfigure the buttons i.e left triger is change player and changing your cursor mode i.e. semi-auto and this not saving really is frustrating. Getting a four player match takes up to much time for the first match of the session. It saves player one so why not the others!

Also not being able to save a goal if you are in 2 player mode is a bit of a let down.

The game will also have the europa league apparently, looks like it will be the best yet but lets wait and see for ourselves.

Excellent! The only thing that is missing from pro since the beginning era or pro series is to have in the master league mode 2 or more players playing together at the same master league. In other words to have more human players in the master league like in other competition modes!!! (Time is a not a problem)

These seem to be great improvements in the series i cant wait to buy this game. I bought the last three series, but i also bought fifa 09 and found the fifa 09 game to be good also and i liked the manager mode in that. But Pes 2010 have made some drastic improvement which will result in me purchasing only PES 2010.

No mention was made about the eurpa league being integrated, i certainly hope that this is also available, PES 2010 DONT DISAPPOINT!!!!

Still no mention of 2 player (or multi player master league mode)!!!! This really frustrates me. Surely it can’t be that difficult to program!! 2 player league mode just doesn’t work as you can’t sign players or develop players etc.

Still sounds like a dramatic improvement though. But sitting playing exhibition matches against your mates gets boring after a while.

i just bought pes today, and i was a bit disappointed. In master league mode you can only scout players from other teams, not ones who are free. and also you can’t customize your jersey or the team at the beginning like you could in the past pes. is it just me being retarded not being able to find this stuff, or did they really take these aspects out of the game?

Why cant I after i finshed my season look over previous seasons. see who was my top goalscorers and assists leader.
Also previous master leagues you could see who was the top scorer and assist leader of all time as you progressed through the saeasons

Glad to see the old master league site back for Pes 2010, if not can someone tell me where the site will be. I have gone through 2 and a 1/2 seasons with barcelona. I started with the crappy default team of Ivarov, Valeney - you know. So I bought back Messi on a free then I bought a few players.

Now in the 2011-2012 season this is my team.
GK - Diego, Joe Hart, Vianik(a wicked master league youth keeper)
DF - Saban(another youth player - OVR 84 - age: 17), Criscito, Bercegliu, Jaric(actually pretty good), Redulic, Jerdkov
    MF - Gourcuff(OVR-95 age: 25), Diego, Karlos-Rijs(created player :P), Kompany, Bou, Isla
FW - Messi, M.Zarate, Ezequiel Lavezzi, A 19 year old Serbian can’t remember his name
I’ve got more players I just can’t remember their names.

Buying players is fairly difficult and I’ve been turned down on more than one occasion but I’ve been able to but some great players. I’ll give you some insight on my spending spree.
Gourcuff - £54 million (expensive but bloody worth it)
    Kompany - £20 million
    Diego - £12 million
    Lavezzi - £33 million
    M.Zarate - £40 million (worth it)

Absolutely love the PES series, and the complete overchange of the master league! also the integrated UEFA and EUROPA. Playing as Man Utd on professional level, 10 mins matches, 1st season, bought queresma and stanton before the 1st season start. The new transfer system has both good and bad though, cuz now i can’t trade old players such as giggs and scholes and van der sar away for rising young players for cheap prices… but the scout do all the work and i don’t need to stress out making reasonable prices! any young players recommended?

transfer offers sucks. when a player is too expensive nobody want-s him. you cannot put a price of one player before the transfer period so you can sell him.

  27. Mark Says:

The best prsopect players are Giovinco, Nasri, Pato (if you can get him) and Zucullini.
